Installation Guide
Installing BERT devices is a streamlined process, carefully designed with our customers’ security and success in mind.
IT Support & Software Setup
- BERT will provide a secure link for control-software download and installation.
- BERT will schedule a virtual meeting to confirm installation and network configuration (see Technical Details below).
Device Installation & Configuration
- Configured devices will be shipped to our local, certified installers.
- Installation date(s) will be confirmed to ensure proper notification and access.
- Our team will install, group, name, and verify the operation of each device.
- Each device will be labeled in the software for detailed control, including equipment controlled, room, floor, wing, and building.
- We can schedule installations to minimize interference with your operations.
Training & Ongoing Support
- We provide virtual, one-on-one software training for your assigned staff.
- Training videos and reference materials will be furnished for future use.
- Our team remains available to ensure the success of your energy-savings and device-control plan.
Configuring BERT
The BERT Plug Load Solution is as easy as 1-2-3. Select the exact combination of hardware, software and wireless network environment for each BERT based on the load or circuit to be controlled.
Technical Details
Our software is compatible with Windows Server, Virtual Machine, or PC.
- A static IP address is required for device communication.
- IP address can be modified post-installation. Contact Support for details.
BERT devices provide uninterrupted smart control.
Schedules, settings, and a 14-day data log remain in effect, even when the network goes down!
IoT network SSID and credentials (if implemented) are required for installation.
- Your credentials are handled securely, and only by authorized personnel. They are not retained, and your control software and devices are not internet-connected.
- Network changes are supported. Contact Support for details. MAC addresses for all devices to be installed are available upon request.
Remote access is required for installation.
- Since our software and devices are not internet-connected, remote access is needed during the installation process.
- We can use a VPN, Remote Desktop (RDP), TeamViewer, MS Teams, or other secure methods per your IT policy.
